Food Pray Love in Bali

2025 Summer

This series was born from my journey through Indonesia in May—wandering across Penida Island, Bali, and Yogyakarta.

Instead of using traditional sketchbooks, I drew on whatever the journey offered me—hotel notepads, receipts, wine coasters, laundry bills, envelopes. These everyday papers, already printed with their own stories and purposes, became the foundation of my drawings. My lines met theirs. My feelings layered over their functions. And in this overlay, something new was born: a mingling of local life and my own inner world.

Each piece of reused paper—printed with logos, numbers, and text—holds echoes of Indonesian life, taste, intimacy, and ritual. Every image is a layered memory—an invitation to taste, to experience, and to love.

Italy

2024 Summer

My journey through Italy—Rome, Naples, and Sicily—was a feast for the senses and a deep well of inspiration for my art. In Rome, I found myself captivated by the ancient apricot hues of its historical architecture, a color that felt timeless yet alive with stories. Naples was a vibrant contrast, with its bustling streets and the irresistible allure of local cuisine, a reminder of life’s simple yet profound pleasures.

In Sicily, I was embraced by the quiet charm of its towns, where silence spoke volumes, and the most stunning shades of blue seemed to stretch endlessly across the sky and sea. These moments of stillness and color moved me deeply, inviting a slower rhythm and deeper connection to the world around me.

Stockholm

2024 Spring

In May 2024, I traveled to Stockholm, a city bathed in light during its most beautiful season. The brightness and energy of spring in Stockholm captivated me, and it became the muse for this new series. Using colored pencils and crayon, I sought to capture the city's free-spirited essence—the soft blend of colors, the gentle flow of people, and the warmth of sunlight on charming streets.

Bangkok

2023 Winter

Bangkok, a sun-kissed city with rich food culture and Buddhist traditions. Sweet and spicy, just like the city’s colors. Seafood and tropical fruits abound at lively stalls, with smoothie stands found around every corner. Candy-sweet hues envelop the surroundings. Amidst the hustle and bustle, ancient temples add a serene touch. These series of drawings are based on my trip around Bangkok and Ayutthaya in December 2023.

This drawing series showcases the captivating street scenes and lifestyles of Tokyo during the winter of 2023. Encompassing Matsuri celebrations, bustling markets, and serene temples, the collection also features numerous rapid sketches capturing delicious food and intriguing moments observed by the artist on hotel paper.
