Marimekko Year of the Snake Capsule Collection

2025 Lunar New Year

Best wishes – Xuetong Wang for Marimekko

We ring in the Year of the Snake with a capsule collection designed with Chinese artist Xuetong Wang. Her art features mythological creatures, messengers of wishes, who are gathered to celebrate the new year.

Meet the Lucky Snake and her joyful friends

The mysteriously elegant Lucky Snake slithers into the spotlight in her dazzling boots and starry skin.

Standing tall and proud, the Wishing Tree invites everyone in the family to gather and hang their hopes on the welcoming branches.

The Fountain of Fortune is a gentle and patient listener, offering time and space for each wish to be thoughtfully made.

Feeling star-struck? No wonder, it’s our world traveler always on the move. The Shooting Star reminds us to dream big and aim high.

The limited-edition capsule collection features selected streetwear and home items adorned with Xuetong Wang’s flowing, organic artistry and Marimekko’s signature bold colors. Both Xuetong's work and Marimekko's designs are known for their carefree spirit, happy contradictions and love for everyday life. With this collection, Marimekko aims to spread joy and optimism, sending best wishes to all.

A special silkscreen printing workshop was held by Xuetong Wang in three major cities in China—Shanghai, Chengdu, and Beijing—just ahead of the Chinese New Year. This creative event celebrated the art of screen printing, a technique central to Marimekko’s fabric production. The workshop offered participants a unique opportunity to connect with Marimekko’s heritage and embrace its carefree spirit while spreading the festive cheer of the season.

Food Pray Love in Bali

2025 Summer

This series was born from my journey through Indonesia in May—wandering across Penida Island, Bali, and Yogyakarta.

Instead of using traditional sketchbooks, I drew on whatever the journey offered me—hotel notepads, receipts, wine coasters, laundry bills, envelopes. These everyday papers, already printed with their own stories and purposes, became the foundation of my drawings. My lines met theirs. My feelings layered over their functions. And in this overlay, something new was born: a mingling of local life and my own inner world.

Each piece of reused paper—printed with logos, numbers, and text—holds echoes of Indonesian life, taste, intimacy, and ritual. Every image is a layered memory—an invitation to taste, to experience, and to love.
